Uganda Innovation Week
What is Uganda Innovation Week
Uganda Innovation Week (UIW) is the annual flagship convening of Uganda's innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. It brings together startups, investors, policymakers, support organisations, academics, and the public for a week of demonstrations, conversations, competitions, and connections.
UIW is organised and convened by Startup Uganda, in collaboration with member ESOs and ecosystem partners across the country. It is not a single event but a week of coordinated activity: exhibitions, panel sessions, pitching competitions, workshops, and public showcases happening across multiple venues and, in some editions, across multiple cities.
Why it matters
Uganda Innovation Week exists because the ecosystem deserves a moment when everything it's built becomes visible. It is where a startup that has been working in a co-working space in Kampala gets in front of an investor. Where a policymaker sits across from an entrepreneur and hears what regulation looks like from the ground. Where a young innovator from outside Kampala sees what is being built in their country, and what is possible for them.
After a period of dormancy, UIW returns in 2026 with a clearer mandate: to be the most credible, best-organised annual moment in Uganda's entrepreneurship calendar.
